1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Riselock ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Riselock is a productivity application that:
- Blocks access to selected apps until you complete morning routine tasks
- Uses Apple's Screen Time API for app blocking functionality
- Provides task verification through various methods (QR scanning, location verification, motion detection, etc.)
- Tracks streaks and completion history locally on your device
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Riselock. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
4. Safety Features
Riselock includes important safety features that you should be aware of:
- Emergency Access: Phone, Messages, and Maps are always accessible, even when blocking is active
- Emergency Override: You can bypass blocking in genuine emergencies
- Fail-Safe: All apps automatically unlock by noon regardless of routine completion
- Settings Control: You can disable blocking at any time through Settings
5. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use the App responsibly and not in situations where immediate phone access may be critical
- Ensure you understand how to use the emergency override feature before enabling blocking
- Not use the App if you have medical conditions that may require immediate phone access
- Keep your device's emergency calling features accessible
6. Subscriptions and Payments
Riselock offers premium features through subscription:
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
- Prices are displayed in the App before purchase
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
- You can manage subscriptions through your Apple ID settings
- Refunds are handled by Apple according to their policies
7. Free Trial
If offered, free trials:
- Provide full access to premium features for the trial period
- Convert to a paid subscription automatically unless cancelled
- Are available once per Apple ID
8. Intellectual Property
Riselock and all associated content, features, and functionality are owned by Riselock and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
Riselock is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:
- That the App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- That blocking will work in all circumstances
- Any specific results from using the App
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Riselock shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the App, including but not limited to:
- Inability to access apps when needed
- Missed notifications or communications
- Any damages arising from the blocking functionality
11. Modifications to the App
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms of Service, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Termination
You may stop using Riselock at any time by deleting the App. We may terminate or suspend access to the App for violations of these terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which you reside, without regard to conflict of law principles.
